Privacy policy

This site is run by Scripps Health Inpatient Providers Medical Group to recruit physicians. This page explains what we collect when you use it, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. If you live in California, it's also our notice under the California Consumer Privacy Act.
What we collect
When you sign in:
- your email address
- your first and last name, from Google if you sign in with Google, or as you type them
- the internet address (IP address) and browser type you signed in from, to help us spot misuse of your account
When you apply for a position:
- your phone number
- your LinkedIn profile address, if you give it
- your CV, and your cover letter if you include one, along with anything they contain
- which website or link brought you here, if your browser tells us
When you browse: we count how many times each job posting is viewed, and which websites visitors arrive from. These counts don't identify you.
Why we collect it
- to consider you for the positions you apply for, and to contact you about them
- to let you sign in and keep your account secure
- to understand which positions and advertising channels attract applicants
We don't sell your information or share it for advertising, and we don't use automated tools to score or rank applicants. People read every application.
Who can see it
Your application is seen only by the people at Scripps Health Inpatient Providers Medical Group involved in hiring. We use a few service providers to run the site, who store or carry information for us and can't use it for anything else:
- Hetzner hosts the site, on servers in Oregon.
- Amazon Web Services stores CVs, cover letters, and backups, encrypted, in Oregon.
- Postmark sends our emails, such as sign-in links.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with your Google account.
How we protect it
CVs, cover letters, phone numbers, and LinkedIn addresses are stored encrypted. Only our hiring team can open them, after signing in, and download links expire after a few minutes.
How long we keep it
We keep applications for [retention period to be decided] after the position is filled or closed, and then delete them. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you signed in, and to remember which link brought you here during a visit. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you, including notes our hiring team has made
- correct it
- delete it
Email careers@shipmgjobs.org from the address you signed in with. We'll respond within 45 days, and we won't treat you differently for asking.
